Haleakala Bike Company does not have an official age limit or minimum. We’ve encountered many elderly folk that have been as fit as can be, and who are we to say that they cannot do this ride? For Children, over the years we have come to find that they are actually much better bike riders than a lot of adults. Because of this, we feel there is no reason why children cannot do the Haleakala downhill ride. Of course biking experience is necessary and the gear we provide can fit down to about a 6 or 7 year old. Even at that age the child would most likely be riding a trailer bike, which is a small bike (balancing and pedaling still required) that latches to the back of an adult bike. The youngest we’ve taken is 6, the oldest 88. No infants or babies on the bike ride, but our Van tours are available for families that still want to join in for the fun but chose not to ride the bike down.
Inclusions: Helmet, backpack, gloves and rain/wind gear. Transportation to the Summit, and a narrated tour of the national park. Insure your bike and equipment for an extra $4 per person. Payable at the time of check-in.
All paid bookings will be charged a ten percent (10%) cancellation fee in the last 15 days before departure. Any activity called off at the designated staging area after entering Haleakala National Park will be charged an automatic 50% of the total trip cost and have the option of rescheduling their bike ride for the balance of the original price. Any activity canceled or rescheduled by the individual clients within 24 hours of their activity date including the day of the activity, will be CHARGED IN FULL on the original scheduled day of their activity. Customers that are unable to reschedule will receive a rain check voucher for the activity that can be redeemed at a later date.
